  1. The mode I see information technology, they are but trying to protect their avails, ( guests) in the long run. If people are afraid of the current clientele (and let'south face information technology, in that location IS a unlike vibe on the streets right now), it's a smart motion on their role. Surely people don't think they are doing this for fun, or to harass their guests. It'due south costing them money, and resorts correct now are very tight with spending.
This is the world we live in right now. I appreciate their efforts to make information technology safer.
  2. I'm all for this at Wynn.

Seeing as the amount of questionable people who have been showing upward to Vegas over the concluding few months, the Wynn need to piece of work harder at keeping information technology the Wynn.

Steve wouldn't have stood for this shit either.

Actually Steve would take probably tried to bring more of them in as in the end all he cared most were dollars. He lost it at the end. Think him destroying the golf game class, wanting to put in the lake and the giant animatronic gorilla? That doesn't even count him putting in XS and EBC which rattled the windows of the building information technology was so loud. The guests from those clubs are often questionable at best also. I recollect drunkard order kids joy riding scooters through the casino back in 2012 every bit an example.

Sad to say but the best affair to happen to Wynn Resorts at the end was him getting pushed out. I stopped staying there for a while considering the experience degraded so. At present it is wonderful again and Wynn/Encore is my "home" hotel once again.

  4. I think it's just coincidental timing. I'm certain information technology has more to do with guns being fired outside Paris and Aria and inside MGM recently.
  5. The trouble are the people who ruin it for everyone. I tin tell from the smell alone that people are smoking information technology in the common areas, hallways, rooms etc of certain properties.
As you mentioned though, I don't believe marijuana is something they can confiscate. So as long every bit you lot are non smoking information technology, it shouldn't exist a problem.

Edit: Sorry, didn't mean to double post!

  6. only heighten the room rates...problem solved.

  7. I work in Vegas entertainment and have worked with Steve & co on the sick-fated Funhouse concept. I spent many hours with the guy. I can say without a dubiousness that he wouldn't want the quality of guest that'south currently in Las Vegas to be a mainstay at Wynncore.

Remember what you want about Wynn, but he creates incredible hotel experiences. No one did it amend. In his heyday, he was superb.

  8. Agreed. Hotels have the same problems as airlines.

Bring the prices downwardly to deal basement and don't exist shocked equally to what shows upward to play.

There'due south something to be said for keeping prices high as to not diminish the perceived status of something.

Steve Wynn is a genius. If at that place is anyone I'd want to emulate in terms of business, it would be him. Nevertheless, nigh 2007 he started to lose a scrap of the spark. Could be becoming older, tired, getting greedy or merely having to please the board of directors/his investors. Encore is gorgeous but his decision to brand the clubs so prominent turned away many of his original fans. Still, I got over that. The whole gorilla thing and the Wynn Plaza Shops were simply bad ideas. Sometimes when people go so wealthy and have basically accomplished the best they can, they go weird. Find how many billionaires latch on to weird causes? That's kind of what Wynn did. He effectively painted the Mona Lisa, then decided to add together more to it. Luckily information technology was restored past his ex wife.
  10. In a lot of ways, I concord. Steve lost some of his touch at the end.

It was always guys similar Roger Thomas who helped actually cement the attraction of a Wynn property. Steve always hired practiced people to environment himself with, even when he himself was first to fail.

For being bullheaded, I've never met someone so hyper-involved with the aesthetics of a testify. He was fascinating to lookout.

  11. Nosotros're drifting off the topic of this thread.

Too a reminder, about disparaging groups of people. Please call up that you can describe abhorrent behavior without disparaging an unabridged grouping of people, or resorting to lazy language using terms like thugs, *********, garbage people, trashy people, etc.

Hither's an LVRJ commodity about the new procedures at Wynn:

The article points out that the screenings are just happening Friday thru Sun.

It would seem ramping up security measures in las vegas is merely a reaction to increased incivility on the streets....
    assaults up 29%
64 guns confiscated in last 30 days...

without resorting to 'lazy' language...it perhaps that the electric current makeup of the vegas company is less....civilized.

  14. A fiddling side story that relates to the contempo uptick in violence.

I went to Rio de Janeiro in the early 90s. They had a reject in tourism considering of violent incidents on their strip. They brought in heavily armed police on each corner. The guards worked from 6am until 12am. The clubs closed at 4am. Ane of my travel buddies was robbed effectually 1am. Not perfect merely it brought back the tourists.

Criminals know how to exploit annihilation. Simply. If you tedious them down past checking me or my bags and it makes everyone just a tad safer....I'm game!!!

Gaming control does not allow properties to have marijuana on the gaming floor or in the hotel (they must uphold State and Federal law, and the feds nevertheless consider it a Schedule i drug, which makes cannabis illegal for any purpose). The state of Nevada considers information technology a legal product, but resorts are not going to run afoul of Gaming. If it is constitute on you lot, you have 2 choices... exit or surrender it.

I've booked and canceled 6 reservations since June, the last fourth dimension I was at that place. Stayed at the MGM M.. the Vegas experience that I loved is gone. I tin can deal with the masks, social distancing, some bars/restaurants airtight , no shows just the scent of weed up and down the strip and in the casinos and the violence has turned me abroad for now. I typically go 4-half-dozen times a year. I hope things ameliorate. I accept no problem with my bags beingness checked I don't have a darn matter to hide. Hope MGM casinos come upwards with some new procedures.

This is like the CET screening procedure for covid. If y'all are checking in, you get a temp check. Everyone else walks in the door, eats, drinks sit down at the tables and practice anything they like with no check at all. They are just checking the hotel guests to say they are doing something. Perhaps the Wynn, and others, should be checking for weapons with infrared or metal detectors?

Steve Wynn is the reason for most of the high terminate properties on the strip if he owned them or non. He should buy the Tropicana and turn that dump into a destination again.

There is other weapon's checking engineering science in apply at Wynn. Nevertheless, this right hither is merely for psychological benefits and as a deterrent to guests they don't want.

A pocket-size inconvenience to add another, while small, layer of protection? I don't see why this is such a problem for some people. If it bothers you so much, don't get. There's clearly a rubber consequence in Vegas now so anything that's added, psychological or not, that could be a deterrent isn't a bad thing.

Some people clearly complain virtually everything irrespective of what it is.
